People have told me: "You can't be sure about anything." I simply ask: "Are you sure about that?"

The reality is that there are things you can be sure about. And the most important of these is the fact that the Creator of the Universe loves us enough that he stepped out of his eternal glory, became one of us, and took the penalty for our sin upon himself. Not only can you be sure of this, it is important that you are

Luke 1:1.4 agrees with this:

"Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught." (from the NIV)

Luke makes clear that his primary purpose in writing his gospel is "so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught." Likewise, this is the primary purpose of my blog.

The focus of this blog is to communicate things that reveal the certainty of God's existence and his revelation in Jesus Christ and how that all points to the fact that God loves us and has provided a plan to redeem us. "But God proves his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

This blog is an attempt to put down in words the cumulative case for all of that which has kept my faith strong in the midst of brutal questions and difficult trials. I have begun that task with a basic outline of 20 REASONS I'M SURE (and a ton of resources for investigating them further).

I hope you find the things that I write intriguing, encouraging, challenging, and enlightening. But most of all I hope that they lead you to know and trust that God loves you and that these things will bring you a certainty that keeps your faith strong in the midst of life's difficult storms.

The other major purpose of my blog is to connect people to the incredible array of apologetic resources that are available. The best place to start is at my ever-growing MASTER LIST OF APOLOGETIC RESOURCES.
